GOTEBORG, Sweden - A 35-year-old Sweden inmate appealed his three-year sentence for a narcotics violation, but the reduction request was denied. In protest, the man stitched his lips together last week and has not eaten since. How this could possibly help his case we really aren't sure. How did a criminal even have access to a needle and thread? According to Uno Rodin, head of the prison, "Needles have never been considered a safety problem, and nobody had imagined that this could happen." The inmate will further appeal the decision to the Supreme Court.

BALCESTI, Romania - A Romanian Woman received a burnt bottom from the "afterglow" of her boyfriends post-sex cigarette. Alina Munteanu's boyfriend reportedly started a forest fire by throwing his cigarette butt out of his car window. As the flames rose, Alina and her lover jumped out naked and tried to fight the fire with a blanket. Unfortunately, the 21-year-old burnt her bottom in the process and was later taken to a local hospital after firefighters were dispatched to put out the flames.

WISCONSIN - Farmer Paul Springer has been trading unusual and deformed animals since the 1970s when he purchased a six-legged calf. He displayed Ole' Bessie at state fairs and had her stuffed after she died. The farmer learns of deformed animals like two-headed calves and a donkey with one head and two bodies from livestock dealers and other farmers. He then sells the animals to circuses and freak shows. If he is particularly fond of them, he stuffs the animals when they die and displays them at his farm. Springer does not accept just any deformity, though. He has turned down a cow without a tail before, saying it wasn't unusual enough. The farmer's last name is so fitting...

HANOI, Vietnam - This could be the hot new item on e-Bay; cheating spouses. After a failed attempt to persuade her husband to give up his younger mistress, a Vietnamese woman reportedly decided to sell him to his lover for only $516. The younger woman paid the fuming wife the lump sum and immediately set up home with the husband. It is reported that the new couple is getting along well and the 41-year-old wife is now living alone.
