HUH HUH, THEY SAID INTERCOURSE
In one of the strangest alliances ever encountered by law enforcement in the Amish community of Pennsylvania, members of the Pagans Motorcycle Club allegedly conspired with some young Amish men to sell "multiple kilograms" of cocaine to Amish youth groups. The drugs were to be sold to the Amish youths during hoedowns. The deals took place in Gap, PA, minutes east of Intercourse, PA.
No Math Whiz
Travis Bogumill, a construction worker in Eau Claire, Wis., was shot with a nail gun that drove a 3 1/4 inch nail all the way into his skull, and the only difference he can see is that he's not quite the math whiz he used to be. A co-worker accidentally bumped his head with the gun, and the nail went in so deep that the only thing visible was a small hole in Bogumill's scalp. He remained conscious, turned to his co-worker and said, "You just nailed me in the head," Bogumill recalled. He said, "it felt like somebody was smacking my head repeatedly with a hammer." Doctors told Bogumill that he shouldn't have been able to walk or talk after the accident, and that they're baffled why he wasn't knocked unconscious. The nail lodged in an area of the brain typically involved in processing math according to Dr. John Lamoureux. "You could give me two two digit numbers and I could multiply them within seconds in myImages head. But now you give me a piece of paper and multiplying 56 by 23 is still difficult," Bogumill said.
A LITTLE BIT OF LUNG PROBLEMS IN HIS LIFE...
When a 24-year-old man showed up at a British hospital emergency room with chest pains, doctors also heard a loud crunching sound each time his heart beat and felt air bubbles under his skin. According to the British Medical Journal, the patient disclosed that the day before he had blown up about 20 party balloons. Doctors concluded that the man had burst some of the little air sacs in his lungs when he blew up the first balloon, then inflated himself a little bit more each time he blew up another balloon. His symptoms clearedc up within 10 days.
PARENT TESTING, MAYBE?
3-year-old Lateef Wise, Philadelphia, PA, was left home alone last week. At about 9:30 a.m., the frightened and crying boy pushed out the screen of an open window. Then he fell from the apartment, bounced off an air conditioner protruding from a second floor window and landed on a narrow strip of grass. After hitting the ground Lateef amazingly got up, began to cry and started walking around. Lateef was later released from a local hospital with just a minor larceration.
